Welcome! I’m Zsuzsanna Keller, an integrative counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In my practice, I work within a Person-Centred model that prioritises understanding, emotional safety, and collaboration, rather than a medical approach focused on diagnoses and symptoms.

My own experiences—both as a client and a practitioner—have reinforced my belief that a pathologising approach often hinders emotional processing and self-acceptance rather than supporting it. Instead, it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, taking the client’s lived experience deeply seriously, and establishing safe boundaries that together create real change.

About me

Born in Budapest, I moved to the United Kingdom in 2017.

My path to becoming a therapist began unexpectedly during a summer holiday in Sicily. Floating in the Mediterranean Sea while in conversation with a friendly stranger, I had a sudden moment of clarity and decided to change my career. Days later, I landed back at Stansted Airport, and by the following month, I was enrolled in my introductory counselling course.

Around the same time, I found a role that felt tailor-made for me: facilitating support groups for individuals with complex emotional needs, drawing directly on my own personal journey of mental health recovery.

By 2026, I completed my formal counselling qualification awarded by the CPCAB. Today, I am based in Hungary, providing online counselling in both English and Hungarian to clients internationally.

My counselling approach

I take your experiences and lived reality completely seriously, and I am not here to tell you how to live your life. This is a fully equal partnership where I am not the expert on your life—you are. Deep down, you know what you need; my role is "simply" to provide a safe, holding space and an evidence-based psychological foundation for your inner journey.

Individual counselling

Online sessions allow you to join from the safety and comfort of your own environment, free from geographical limits, and with the flexibility to suit your schedule.

While I draw on elements from various psychological approaches in my work, the most essential pillar for me is an equal, reciprocal relationship between us. You won't be sitting across from an "all-knowing" expert, but walking alongside a companion who accompanies you on your journey.

  • Person-Centred Approach: This forms the foundation of our work. You will receive complete acceptance, empathy, and a non-judgmental presence, allowing you to feel safe even with your most difficult emotions.

  • Transactional Analysis (TA) Elements: Using TA, we bring your internal processes and relational patterns into focus and make them understandable. We examine how you operate in daily life and why certain situations recur.

  • DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) Skills: You will learn practical, actionable techniques for emotion regulation and managing internal distress. You will develop tools to stay grounded when overwhelmed by intense emotions.

Professional and Personal Experience

For three years, I worked within the NHS in the mental health field. In my role, I supported clients struggling with complex emotional difficulties, who had often been diagnosed with personality disorders.

Through my work facilitating community support groups for the SUN (Service User Network), it became clear that diagnoses of personality disorders often mask severe trauma and neurodivergence. With my own autism diagnosis, I bring both professional expertise and deep personal lived experience to supporting neurodivergent (ADHD, autism) clients.

BACP

What BACP Membership Means for You

The BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) is the UK’s leading professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists.

Being a Registered Member of the BACP guarantees that:

  • I adhere to a strict ethical code

  • I hold accredited qualifications

  • I commit to ongoing quality assurance

Neutral space

I believe the therapeutic space works best when it remains a neutral, non-judgmental environment focused entirely on you as an individual. I do not view my role as pushing specific ideologies, making assumptions based on identity, or simply telling you what you want to hear.

Instead, our work is a balanced partnership grounded in evidence and open exploration. We take the time to examine what you bring to sessions honestly and thoughtfully, helping you build the inner strength, clarity, and independence needed to navigate life on your own terms.

My practice is fully neurodiversity-affirming. Drawing from my own autism diagnosis received in 2025, I bring not only theoretical knowledge, but also deep personal and professional lived experience. I offer an insider perspective to support you in your lived reality with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD. There are no boxes or labels here—we work in a way that respects the unique functioning of your nervous system and your current capacity.

Your well-being is my priority

I believe in empowering you to discover your inner strengths and develop effective strategies to achieve emotional balance and personal growth.

"I've been attending SUN for 3 years now, and she's a big part of the reason my mental health has improved a lot over that time. I just wanted to thank her for that, and all the support she's provided. It's been so invaluable and important for me.

She's an absolute star and she will really be missed."
